A Prayer for my Little Bronte

My Beautiful little dog Bronte is going into have her Cruciate Ligament in her back
leg operated on tomorrow.  It is a big operation and she has not
been a well dog over the past few years.
She is my first baby, my best friend, my loyal companion.
I can't imagine life without her.
Bronte will be 13 next month and watching her get old is heartbreaking.
She has the spirit of a puppy, the body is just not quiet up to pace.
So I am saying a little prayer for her to the angels to keep her safe.

Today she had a bath and a hair cut to keep her cool and clean while she recovers
and tomorrow I will be sitting by my phone waiting to hear from the vet.

Here we go!!!

Looks like we will finally be starting this week.  The builder is going to start the excavating this week.
Really hoping it doesn't rain constantly for the next few months.
Steve Martin said on It's Complicated that starting a build in the rain is good luck!!!
All I know is that when that first dig into the ground is done I am popping the champagne
 (any excuse really)

We spent a lovely few days at my parents in the Coff's area.
Went to the beach and just relaxed.
Woke up to this every morning.

On the last night I went outside and spotted a little flashing light in the bush.
I took my Mum out and discovered that they were  Fire Flies.
The kids came outside and all of a sudden there were hundreds dancing around the
garden. The bushes looked like they had flashing fairy lights in them.
The kids spent the next half an hour dancing around the garden with them,
it was quite magical.
I tried to get some photos but was too dark.

On the way home I popped into a cute little country shop just to have a look and
ended up walking out with a few little purchases including another white jug
to add to my collection for the new kitchen.

I am a little obsessed with white and white and pewter jugs and bowls.

Have a lovely weekend,

Wish List

Waiting has never been one of my strongest points, so the last few days have
been a little painful for my hubby and I waiting for our plans to come back so we can start the build.

So I started going over my wish list for the house.

Deciding between these two

Coffee table

Dining table

Dining chairs.

Now off the buy that lotto ticket.

Almost everything has been decided.  Kitchen - tick
Bathroom tiles  Finally, thank you to the lovely Leah from Little Maison who
helped me decide on the tiles.  Tapware - tick.
Exterior colours - Tick

Check out Leah's website and blog.  If you are looking for someone to put together
that perfect room for your little one, she is the girl.

This room she did is featured in Little One Baby, pop over here to see the rest.

Taking a few days to hang out with the kids and family.
Hope everyone has a great week.  Hopefully I will have pictures of
the build beginning very soon.

Been a little Under The Weather

A short absence due to feeling a little under the weather.

My little man was sick last weekend with a bad cold and felt he had to
share it with his Mum.

Today  kids at school,  Tobey at Day Care having lots of messy fun.

Found these cute pictures of baby hedge hogs and thought I would
share them with you.

Off to enjoy a day of peace and quiet.

Bella

I don't usually post pictures of the kids on my blog, but Ruby looked so sweet in her
dress I had to share.

It was a lovely night, and we had dinner with school friends after.

Then it was back to business as usual on Sunday.
It was a great day at Hamilton, clouds threatening a few times but stayed fine all day.

All About The Dress

My little Ruby is doing her 1st communion tonight and she designed her own dress
( with a little input from Mum).
We chose white silk taffeta with a half circle skirt and a fine layer of tulle.
It had to have an empire line ribbon with a flat bow.

So here is what we came up with.

An elegant mid calf length with a few little daisies to pretty it up, and finished with some tiny
pearls that were left over from my wedding dress.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Waiting

This has to be the most boring part of the build.  Waiting.  We are hoping to get our plans back from Council in a week or two so we can start.  Nothing to do but wait.
Have plenty of things to keep me busy, sewing, sewing and some more sewing.
Haven't finished Ruby's communion dress yet but promise to post it as soon as it is finished.
I have been thinking of doing a ballet style doll for Ruby & Belle for a while so when I got a request from a customer I jumped at it.
Here is what I came up with.

Off to Portside Wharf on Sunday for the Boutique Markets. The weather report is good
so should be a lovely day.

River Fire

On Saturday night we were lucky enough to be invited to a function at All Hallows in Brisbane.
We had a great night with an amazing view of the fire works and planes.
I took a few photos on my i phone, a little fuzzy sorry.
The planes looked like UFO's in the cloud cover.

A great night and the rain held off just long enough for the fireworks but left us a little soggy trying to get a taxi home.

Was woken up at 6 am by my little one, bless him!
My Ruby who is a budding little Master Chef, decided Daddy needed a special Father's Day breakfast and we made pancakes with Strawberry Maple Syrup.  Yum!!
Spent the rest of the day making her Communion Dress.  Will post a picture tomorrow of the finished product.

Happy Monday.

One for the Red Heads

I was asked to make a little "Red Head" doll for a customer for her daughter, I think she turned out very cute.  The kids suggested we call her Julia but the little girl who she was going to is Neive, so I think it only fitting that she be the  "Neive doll".

What do you think, should I make her part of the range???
