Online finds

I was on the internet yesterday looking for place card holders to display price tags on my market stall and I found these little beauties from here

I love the little bird baths but I ordered the little bird cages to go with my bird cage theme and couldn't resist one of these. will look lovely in one of my  decorative glass bottles in the kitchen.

They do more than just wedding things, have some lovely party supplies for kids and adults parties.
Don't forget the Butterfly Tree Markets are on this Sunday, so if anyone is down in the Gold Coast on the weekend be sure to drop in, entry is free.  Click on the link on the right of my blog for details.
Have a happy Tuesday.

Bliss

In the chaos of family arriving tomorrow,  overdue cleaning is a must today along with truck loads of sewing as I try to prepare stock for my upcoming busy month.
I rescued a baby bird from our front garden and set it back high in a the tree from the bedroom balcony, much to the distress of the 4 adult birds that were hovering around and swooping at us when we left for school this morning.  Has now climbed back up to safety and Mum is feeding it.
Good deed for the day :-)
Now have put it back again, don't think it is quite ready.

I found a few moments to look over one of my favorite fabric designers blogs.
I can't wait for this range to come out is September.  I have to admit I am missing my blue with  red and white polkadots from Ruby Rosebud ( as much as I love my new logo ) so will have to satisfy my cravings with beautiful fabrics for my clothing  and home wares.

Off to clean house.  Have a happy Tuesday.

Bathroom help Please !!

Ok, so here is my first challenge for the build so fair and need some advice.
In our ensuite  we have chosen and bought the bath

Chosen the tap ware

Chosen, ( I think) the tiles and bench

And mirrors (thank you AM for your wonderful inspiration)

Now am completely stuck on the wall tiles.
The builder has put in his budget for waist high wall tiles.  I'm not convinced, especially with these mirrors.
So, do I tile to the ceiling in a white tile, tiles on the walls just inside the shower in a matching wall tile in a larger rectangle and leave the walls just painted.  There will be 2 windows with white shutters, one above the bath and one over the towel rail.
Any suggestions are welcome.

kitchen Inspiration.

Off to meet with yet another kitchen place tomorrow, I've never had such a problem getting a quote.  You would think that doing a full build with kitchen, laundry,  and 2 bathrooms and 4 wardrobes someone would be keen.
Anyway, loving these high cupboards, we will have 3 meter ceilings in kitchen and living room.
Would be nice to have a unlimited budget.

Busy sewing stock for the  Butterfly Tree and Mathilda's Markets in August.
Good news, looks like I will have a mobile eftpos machine  to take along.
Suncorp has some good deals if anyone is looking.
Have a great day

Little birdy

As promised here is an updated picture of the birdhouse with the little birdy.

I am attaching the button for the Butterfly Tree Markets to my Side bar.  It is their first market but apparently the location is very good with easy parking and a nice indoor area.
Kids are back to school today and have decided it is a good day to sleep in.  Will have to go and peel them out of bed.
Have a great day.   Mxx

Loving Rattan

Still drooling over the Riviera Maison website.
I was down at Ascot the other day and in one of my favorite shops Lyle & Bank.
I found out  that they have been able to place an order with Riviera Maison and will be expecting a delivery in about 8 weeks.  Just long enough to save up for a few things!!!

We had a quite but lovely day down at Portside, the rain held off which was great but a little chilly early on.
Rachael is doing a great job flying solo.
I fished off my little bird house so will post a little pic later on.  Will be starting on some more this week and getting ready for my first visit to the Butterfly Markets on the Gold Coast.

Learning to comprimise

After blowing out the building budget a little I have been shopping around for some cheaper options for my furniture purchases.
I found these chairs in Ikea and will make a linen slip cover like the one in Riviera maison, stain the legs and who will ever know.

Was loving this

But found this in Recollections for less than half the price. Looks more beige in person.

Was hoping to curl up here.

Found this in OZ Design

Have a great weekend and if you are in the area drop into the Boutique Markets at Portside, Hamilton.
There are heaps of new stalls with amazing things.

Bird House

Amongst the chaos of school holidays I managed to find time to put the first prototype of my bird house range.
Just needs a little birdy to sit on the perch.  Working on one and will post a pic later.
Would love this for my old girl but not sure , just not sure she would be able to get up on it.
I have just signed up to take part in the new Butterfly Markets on the Gold Coast on the 1st August.
Waiting to get more information and will post it all when I do.

Produce

I got this beautiful book from my Mum and Dad, late Birthday present.
It tells you when the best time is to buy fruit and lovely recipes  for each one.
I can't wait to get my apron on and try some out.  Will have to wait till next week though.
Off to the gift fair.  If you are looking for something to do on Sunday don't forget the Young Designers Markets are on at South Bank.

A few days away

I am back after a few days away.  We packed  up the kids and the dog (in a beer box wedged inbetween the front seats) and headed down to just south of Coff's Harbor to stay with my Mum and Dad.
Was lovely to get away but was very cold down there, It's funny how quickly you get used to the warmer winter.

My Mum inherited this pine sideboard from my Brother and waved her magic white wand over it. It looked beautiful, with new handles and lovely hinges she did a great job.  One of my Mum's friends
says you can't stand still too long in Mum's house or you will get painted white.   On the hunt now to get her some pretty white ceramic french style jugs to fill the shelves.

After searching homeware shops in Brisbane for my third cake stand, I walked into two shops, one in Coff's and one in a little town called Maxville and found about four of them in both.  so very happy to announce I have my three Villa maison minni cake stands.  Also picked up a lovely little white china swallow tail bird that sits on the side of a vase.  Will post a pic soon.
Ruby and Belle will be down at  South Bank Young Designers Markets on Sunday, hope the weather is good.
Now off to try and do some work while entertaining kids on holidays.
